I moved to Seattle in 2006 to study vessel wakes and sediment transport on Puget Sound beaches and have stuck around ever since, realizing a career in coastal engineering was a great fit for my overlapping interests in geology, engineering, and the outdoors. I enjoy the opportunity to discover and learn about each new project site whether by getting out in the field and collecting data on the physical processes or diving into the data from the office.
I’ve been fortunate to travel internationally in my previous position, but with Blue Coast Engineering I am gladly staying closer to home with my 2 young children and focusing on Puget Sound restoration projects. My roles at BCE include coastal engineering analysis and design and data collection and analysis. I also contribute to ArcGIS mapping and AutoCAD design efforts.
